How the Agricultural Sciences Grade 11 Exam Is Structured

Under this section, you will find the full exam layout for Agricultural Sciences Grade 11. You are going to write two exam papers. Each paper is 2 hours long and carries 150 marks.

Paper 1 Exam

• Duration: 2 hours
• Section A: Question 1 (Short/objective questions – 45 marks)
• Section B: Questions 2–4 (35 marks each – Total 105 marks)

Term 1 Topics – Agricultural Sciences Grade 11

Under this section you will revise the topics taught in Term 1. These are mostly focused on chemistry and soil science — all examinable in Agricultural Sciences Grade 11 Paper 1.

These topics form the foundation of many Section B questions in Paper 1. Practise structured questions, terminology, and labelled diagrams.

Term 2 Topics – Agricultural Sciences Grade 11

This section focuses on deepening your understanding of soil conditions and environmental interactions. These topics are also examined in Agricultural Sciences Grade 11 Paper 1.

• Soil Temperature: Influence on biological activity and crop growth

Be ready for both short-answer and explanation questions. Diagrams and interpretation of data are common in this section of the exam.

Term 3 Topics – Agricultural Sciences Grade 11

Under this section, you will revise all the plant-based content, fertilisers, and plant reproduction. These topics are tested in Agricultural Sciences Grade 11 Paper 2.

• Photosynthesis: Storage organs, manipulation to increase rate
• Water and Nutrients in Plants: Osmosis, diffusion, transpiration
• Mineral Nutrition: Macronutrients (NPK, Ca, Mg), micronutrients (Fe, Zn, etc.)
